Owen Thomas
Owen Thomas is the face of weekend evenings on the ITV News Channel. Until February 2004 he had been a regular presenter of the ITV Morning News and the overnight news summaries.
Before joining ITN as a freelance newscaster and reporter he was a reporter and newsreader at London News Network's London Today and London Tonight service.
For a number of years he was a newsreader on Radio One's Newsbeat.
Owen is a former BBC News trainee and started his TV presenting career at the age of just 21 when the BBC World business presenter didn't show up. Within a week he was a regular financial presenter on the channel, later moving to BBC News 24.
Owen is a fluent French speaker and spent two years as a newsreader on Radio France Internationale in Paris.
He has a degree in French with International Business from Aston University in Birmingham.
Despite having Welsh routes Owen grew up in Nottingham. He now lives in Islington.
