Leyla Daybelge

Leyla Daybelge has wide experience of reporting and presenting with a variety of national broadcasting organisations.

Not least, Leyla was presenting on the ITN News Channel during the terror attacks in the US on September 11 2001.

She was educated in Belfast, London and Boston, and began her career in journalism in 1988 working on magazines.

She moved to broadcasting in 1992 when she joined TV-am. From there, she moved to LBC Radio and IRN as a producer and reporter.

She then joined Sky News as a producer in 1994.

The following year she was appointed a reporter for Sky News' business unit, a role in which she interviewed Chancellor Gordon Brown, the Governor of the Bank of England as well as the chief executives of most of Britain's leading companies.

In 1998 she moved to a presenting role, as business presenter for Sky News' Sunrise and Money programmes as well as an anchor on the main news bulletins.

She was also a co-presenter and correspondent on the organisation's monthly media programme.

She joined ITN in August 2000 as a presenter, and transferred to the ITV News Channel at its launch.
