Lucy Alexander

Lucy Alexander joined the ITV News Channel in February 2004 as co-presenter of the breakfast programme with Andrew Harvey. She also appears on Live with Alastair Stewart.

Lucy joined London News Network as a presenter in March 2000, having previously worked for Anglia Television. She says she never really intended to go into TV - radio had always been her passion. After four years at Bristol University, she did a postgraduate journalism course in Portsmouth, then headed straight to BBC local radio as a reporter.

Lucy joined Anglia Television in in Norwich as a producer but soon started reporting and newsreading.

She spent two years there before being drawn to London Tonight and the big lights of the capital.

Her interests include walking (she's trekked in Nepal, Peru, Ecuador and Mexico), watercolour painting and photography.

As a teenager she harboured an ambition to be a Blue Peter presenter, before setting her sights on presenting a highbrow radio show like the Today programme.
